Currently in China, the flowability of cast-in-place asphalt mixtures is evaluated using the Laval flow number, which serves as an indicator of their workability and ease of construction. However, the Laval testing apparatus currently in use has a relatively simple structural design; the test is conducted entirely at room temperature, and both the height to which the flow hammer descends and the time required for this descent are determined manually.
