- Product Description
-
The test methods for evaluating the cracking performance of asphalt mixtures are diverse and the testing procedures are relatively complicated, making it difficult to quickly assess the crack resistance of asphalt mixtures. In 2019, the United States issued the "Standard Test Method for Determining the Asphalt Mixture Crack Resistance Index at Intermediate Temperatures," which employs an indirect tensile cracking test to directly and rapidly determine the cracking index of asphalt mixtures. This method is convenient and fast, directly reflecting the cracking performance of the specimen. It has now been fully adopted and widely used in the United States. The instrument described here was developed specifically in accordance with this test procedure.
The instrument performs the test automatically, and the touchscreen displays the test graph and curve. Upon completion of the test, the instrument automatically shows the fracture work (W), fracture energy (gf), and fracture toughness index (CT).
Instrument configuration:
1 unit of asphalt mixture cracking index tester host machine
1 set of cracking index test fixture
Crack Index Pressure Strips, 2 Sets
1 printer
1 10.5-inch touchscreen
1 power cable
1 pressure sensor, 50 kN
Displacement sensor, 0–25 mm, 1 piece
