Operating Conditions and Maintenance of Asphalt Mixture Compaction Equipment
2020-05-28
The asphalt mixture compaction tester features a compact size, convenient operation, reliable performance, and the ability to implement automated technology—including automatic compaction and automatic shutdown. It also allows for pausing operations during testing. This device is suitable for both laboratory work and outdoor applications.
Compaction equipment for asphalt mixtures: Conditions of use:
Power supply voltage: 380V/220V Ambient temperature: 10℃~45℃
Relative humidity: 85% Level adjustment error: ≤0.1%
The power supply phase sequence must be the same as the motor’s forward rotation phase sequence, and the protective earth wire must be properly connected.
Operating Procedures for Asphalt Mixture Compaction Tester:
(1) Prepare Marshall specimens using the standard compaction method.
(2) Measure the height and diameter of the test specimen. If these measurements fall outside the allowable tolerance range, the specimen shall be discarded and may not be subjected to the Marshall test.
(3) The Marshall specimens shall be kept in a constant-temperature water bath for 30–40 minutes (for the immersed Marshall test, keep them in the water bath for 48 hours). The upper and lower platens of the Marshall apparatus shall also be placed in the water bath and kept at the same temperature.
(4) Remove the specimen and the plunger. Place the Marshall specimen into the plunger, then insert it into the Marshall testing machine. Align the positions of the pressure sensor and the displacement sensor.
(5) Start the instrument and apply the load at a rate of 50 ± 5 mm/min until the specimen reaches its maximum load. Record the maximum load and the flow value.
(6) The time from removing the specimen from the constant-temperature water bath to recording the maximum load shall not exceed 30 seconds.
(7) After the experiment is completed, promptly turn off the power and clean the instrument.
Maintenance and Servicing of Asphalt Mixture Compaction Equipment:
1. Instruments and equipment must not be disassembled, modified, or taken apart for use at will. If it is indeed necessary to develop new functions or carry out renovations and upgrades, approval procedures must be followed in accordance with the hierarchical management authority before implementation.
2. Regularly maintain and service equipment, and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area. For instruments and equipment that will be left unused for extended periods, power them on periodically to prevent moisture and mold from damaging the equipment and its components.
3. Establish a regular verification and calibration system for key technical indicators of large-scale, high-precision, and valuable equipment to maintain the required technical specifications and ensure proper documentation of original records.
