Use and Maintenance of the Asphalt Extensometer

The asphalt ductility tester is suitable for measuring the ductility of various specifications and models of asphalt, as well as residue from liquid asphalt distillation and residue from asphalt emulsion evaporation. It is widely used in manufacturing, road construction, and research institutions, and is particularly well-suited for testing modified asphalt.
Usage steps:
1. Connect to a 220V power supply. Note: Wiring must be secure, and the entire machine’s casing must have proper grounding protection. The neutral wire must not be substituted with the ground wire; otherwise, the machine will fail to start.
2. Check whether all switches are set to the “off” or “stop” position. If not, adjust them accordingly.
3. Press the “Power” button to turn on the main power supply; the power indicator light will illuminate.
4. Heating: Set the heating switch to the heating position; the indicator light will illuminate. Adjust the temperature controller’s display to the desired temperature, and heating will begin. When the set temperature is reached, the normally open contact will automatically disconnect, stopping the heating process. As the temperature drops, the normally open contact will automatically close again, allowing the temperature controller to maintain a constant temperature automatically. Note: Do not turn on the heating or cooling function when there is no water in the tank.
5. Cooling: Set the cooling switch to the cooling position. When the indicator light comes on, adjust the temperature controller’s setting to the desired temperature. Once the set temperature is reached, the machine will start operating and stop cooling automatically. When the temperature rises again, the normally open contact closes once more, restarting the cooling process and providing automatic control.
6. To ensure uniform water temperature in the sink, turn on the stirring switch; the pump will start working, and when stirring stops, the pump will also stop.
7. Stretching: Set the switch to the “extension” or “retraction” position, and the motor will be powered on. Then, turn on the switch on the speed regulator and adjust the control knob of the speed-regulating motor to change the motor’s rotational speed, thereby adjusting the stretching speed. Note: To ensure the water surface remains still, you must turn off the pump during stretching.
Maintenance highlights:
1. Since this machine is equipped with a high-performance refrigeration compressor, prolonged storage may cause refrigerant oil to accumulate inside the compressor, making it difficult to start up, or causing the refrigerant oil to settle at the bottom. Therefore, you can run the freezer for about one hour every three months.
2. When the freezing speed is too slow, it indicates a refrigerant shortage. You can recharge with F22 as appropriate. When recharging with F22, it’s best to choose a dry, sunny day to prevent even trace amounts of moisture from entering the refrigerant charging hose. It’s recommended that an experienced technician perform the repair and maintenance.
3. After completing the experiment, be sure to apply sufficient grease to the original leadscrew and all lubrication points to prevent rusting. Also, pull the closing nut to the middle of the water tank to prevent the leadscrew from sagging.
