Introduction to the Asphalt Extensometer:
Used for testing the plastic deformation of specimens at fracture and for elongation tests on materials such as modified asphalt.
Main features of the asphalt ductility tester:
1. The entire machine is made of stainless steel and will never rust.
2. High-precision temperature control instrument with accurate temperature regulation.
3. It uses a copper rack, so there’s no risk of teeth jumping.
Purpose and Scope of Application
This test is applicable to evaluating the elastic recovery performance of thermoplastic rubber-modified asphalt, specifically measuring the percentage of deformation recovery through the sieve openings after the specimen has been elongated to a specified length using a ductility tester. Supplier: Hebei Dahong Testing Instrument Co., Ltd. Unless otherwise specified, the test temperature is 25℃, and the tensile rate is 5 cm/min ± 0.25 cm/min.
Asphalt Extensibility Tester Instruments and Materials
1. Mold for Testing: Use the mold employed in the ductility test, but replace the middle section with a straight-sided mold. The cross-sectional area of the specimen produced should be 1 cm².
2. Water Bath: The water bath shall maintain the specified test temperature with fluctuations not exceeding 0.1℃. The water bath’s volume shall be no less than 10 L, and its height must ensure that the specimen is immersed to a depth of at least 10 cm, while maintaining a distance of no less than 5 cm from the bottom of the water bath.
3. Ductility Testing Machine: Same as T 0605 in this procedure.
4. Thermometer: Meets the requirements for the ductility test.
5. Scissors.
Calibration Method for Asphalt Extensometer
1. Adjust the zero point, power on and move the device, then simultaneously start the stopwatch. When the time reaches 1 minute, read and record the displacement measured on the scale. Repeat the measurement three times and calculate the arithmetic mean, ensuring that the speed is within the range of (50 ± 5.0) mm/min.
2. Using a dial caliper, measure three 300-mm segments on the scale. Each measurement must have a deviation no greater than 1 mm to be considered qualified.
3. Use a dial caliper to measure the inner dimensions of the test mold three times each, calculate the average value, and determine whether the result is合格 (qualified) as long as it falls within the allowable deviation range.
