Features of the Asphalt Mixture Compaction Tester

The prepared asphalt mixture specimens are carefully wrapped with rubber membranes according to specified requirements and then placed in a pressure chamber maintained at 60℃. Using 60℃ constant-temperature water as the medium, the specimens are subjected to a predetermined confining pressure while the worktable rises at a constant loading rate of 7.5 mm/min or 0.2 mm/min, depending on the test conditions. The reaction frame applies an axial load to the specimen, and a force sensor measures the axial pressure, while a displacement sensor records the axial deformation. During the test, the change in specimen volume is determined by measuring the amount of water discharged from the specimen using either a back-pressure volume tube or a volumetric change tube. Throughout the entire testing process, the confining pressure, temperature, and deformation rate are kept constant. The LCD display shows the peak axial pressure, axial strain, major principal stress, and shear strength.
