Installation and Trial Run of the Intelligent Tracking Multifunctional Electric Compactor
1. Adjust the position of the workbench according to the diameter size of the test cylinder. Before turning on the machine, manually lift and lower the compaction hammer once to confirm that the edges of the mold are not being impacted.
2. Pour the prepared soil sample into the cylinder in 3 to 5 portions. For the small cylinder, use approximately 800–900 g per layer when following the three-layer method; for the five-layer method, each layer requires about 400–500 g of soil sample. When using the large cylinder, first place the spacer block on the bottom plate of the cylinder. For the five-layer method, each layer requires about 900–1100 g of soil sample; for the three-layer method, each layer requires roughly 1700 g of soil sample. Level the surface and gently compact it. Then, set the prescribed number of blows and start the compaction process. During compaction, the rammer should fall freely and vertically, with the impact marks evenly distributed across the soil sample surface. After completing the compaction of each layer, “roughen” the surface of the soil sample. Next, press the “Reset” button and repeat the above procedure to compact the remaining layers of soil.
3. After compaction is completed, use a trimming knife to carefully scrape along the inner wall of the sleeve, ensuring the specimen is completely separated from the sleeve. Then, twist and remove the sleeve. Carefully trim the specimen flush with the top of the sleeve, wipe clean the outer surface of the sleeve, and weigh it. Use a demolding device to release the specimen from the sleeve, and take a sample from the center of the specimen to determine its moisture content.
4. Before using the small cylinder for compaction, insert the compaction head rod at both the top and bottom. Before using the large cylinder for compaction, remove the top and bottom rod inserts.
